- If you want to binge on it, the fastest way is probably questing. Covenant quest chain, Korthia quest chain, and ZM quest chain each reward renown frequently. If you want to be efficient about it, Callings reward renown and a bunch of gold and only take like 10 minutes a day.
OP best way is torghast at mid level (5ish) till you stop earning renown. Then you can do callings, weekly korthia / anima quest etc that will all award one renown. The higher the torghast level the bigger chance of renown. M+ bg wins raid bosses etc should also have a good chance of giving renown.

One of the best ways to earn renown is by doing a weekly quest. You can pick up weekly reputation quests in Valdrakken, right outside of the recall point. This quest, Aiding the Accord, is given by Therazal and is easy to complete.
By and large, you have a chance to earn renown from almost any activity: random normals, random heroic, m0, m+, raids of all kinds, pvp, torghast. If you don't want to do torghast, low m+ is the best. Or wait a few days and just do 2-3 callings.

No. On the first go around no nothing is skip able and also even if you have skipped their will be a cost to it like possible renown and stuff so yah I wouldn't recommend it. If you manage to get renown 80 on the first character (I think) you can buy the boost token for reknown 40.
How to farm Renown 80 fast?
Kill the world bosses to take advantage of the catch up renown mechanic (get three per boss up to 48 I believe). Then you spam torghast layer 9 or comp stomp. Also if you haven't done ZM campaign it is solid catch up,too. I've read that the ZM campaign gives loads of renown.
Torghast is the most effective way of farming new levels of Renown.
