Televisions' model number usually starts with numbers representing diagonal screen size then followed by a set of letters then another set of numbers representing feature level.
We'll start with picture quality. In our side-by-side comparison reviews, OLED beats QLED every time. We compared last year's Editors' Choice OLED TV -- the LG C1 series -- against the best 2022 Samsung 4K QLED TV, the Samsung QN90B series. The Samsung QLED came closer than ever to the LG OLED, but the LG still won.
TV types and jargon explained: LCD, LED LCD, OLED.
In most cases, OLED outperforms LG's NanoCell TVs. OLED offers better image quality, better gaming performance, lower power consumption, deeper blacks, brighter whites, and gorgeous color. The NanoCell, however, is better for use in brighter rooms and doesn't come with the risk of burn-in that OLED has.
The best TV we've tested is the Samsung S95B OLED. It's an incredible 4k TV that uses a unique QD-OLED panel, which combines the best aspects of OLED and Quantum Dot technology, which allows it to display perfect deep blacks with no blooming around bright highlights.

If you're budget-minded, favor OLED screen technology, and want a slightly more capable Smart platform overall, LG TVs are the right option. In contrast, if you're looking to buy a TV with a stronger brand behind it, want features like HDR 10+, and prefer QLED displays, Samsung is the better choice for you.

How do I know what type of LG TV I have?
- Using your TV's original remote, press the Home button.
- Navigate to the top right and select Settings.
- Navigate to the bottom and select All settings.
- Navigate down to the General section.
- Select About this TV followed by TV Information.
- The TV Model number should be on this page.
In many ways, QLED is the best choice. You'll get a brighter picture, these TVs tend to last longer, they're cheaper and there's no risk of burn-in – a mark that's left on the screen of OLED TVs.

Lifespan of an OLED TV is supposedly pretty good - at least 6–8 years. I would put moderate use as 4–6 hours of TV daily, or maybe 8 max. If one is watching more, then I will say - folks please get a little more life.
The LED TV is the most common type of TV you can buy, and they come in a wide range of screen sizes and with many different features. You can get budget models if you want something cheap and cheerful – or high-end models with top-notch picture quality.
OLED TV is a television display technology based on the characteristics of organic light-emitting diodes (OLED).
The Best OLED TV
Thanks to a panel design that's fundamentally different from LCD TVs, OLED TVs naturally produce perfectly inky black levels, highly saturated colors, smooth motion, and superior viewing angles. In short, OLED TVs provide the best picture quality around—but they're priced accordingly.
The Sony A8H OLED and the LG CX OLED are almost identical in performance. The Sony delivers slightly better picture quality, as it has better gradient handling and a much better color volume.
QLED Televisions have a higher level of brightness and better colours than LED and many OLED TVs. However, QLED TVs fall short when it comes to the deep blacks and contrast levels of OLED TVs. The costs of producing QLED TVs are high, which means the brands find it commercially viable to start with 43 inches screen.
OLED has a significantly wider and better viewing angle when compared to 4k UHD LED TVs. Unlike LEDs that still have shutter issues because of screen pixels, OLED comes with advanced pixels powered by self-illumination capabilities. Thus, OLED is a clear winner in this department.
The average lifespan of an LED at maximum or close-to-maximum brightness is 40,000 to 60,000 hours, or roughly 4.5 to 6.8 years. If you aren't watching TV for 24 hours a day (which I hope you're not), an LED TV like the 6-Series could last around 13 years, provided none of the other components fail beforehand.
What TV brand has best picture quality?
According to St. Leger, LG makes the best quality screens for movies. “Its OLED panels pack a punch — with excellent processing, deep blacks and vivid colors across the board — while the webOS smart platform is possibly the best in the business,” he explained.
4K is 4x more pixels than HD — the total number of pixels being 8,294,400 pixels – this means that when you compare a 4K vs HD TV, as the pixel count increases, the more detail and clarity you can expect in the image you see on the screen.
Is LG a good TV brand? LG is an excellent brand when it comes to televisions. They've established themselves as the top choice for OLED models as well as premium TVs with high-end features like Dolby Vision, AI-enhanced audio, cloud-based gaming, and streaming entertainment.
Smart TV delivers a much better overall user experience. However, keep in mind that Smart TV is expensive compared to the normal TV. You can get a 42-inch normal TV at the price of a 32-inch smart TV.
Sony vs LG
LG is the dominant OLED brand for OLEDs because they have better gaming performance and generally cost less. However, Sony's LED models are far better than LG's because they get brighter, have better uniformity, and usually have better contrast.
On average, LG TVs last roughly 100,000 hours if they use OLED technology. However, the number drops to about 60,000 hours if it's an LCD TV. Other factors such as the usage and environmental elements also play a role in determining the lifespan.

Is OLED TV worth buying? OLED TVs have the best picture quality, best viewing angles, infinite contrast ratios, true blacks, and—on some models—very thin profiles. So, while OLED TVs aren't as bright as LED or QLED TVs, and are more expensive than both, they're well worth the investment.
Why are there no OLED gaming monitors? This is mainly because OLED panels don't have high refresh rates. Gamers should prioritize a 75 Hz or higher refresh rate and, to date, OLEDs can't meet this baseline metric.
Breakability- OLED screens seem to break or get damaged when the glass breaks, much more often than LED screens. OLED screens are very thin and that plays a large part in there rigidity. If your phone flexes or gets smashed hard enough, you are likely to be left with a blank screen.
OLED TVs are some of the best TVs you can buy here and now, and 8K TVs give us a hint of what TV's future might be. The combination of those two technologies brings us to the LG Z2, an 8K OLED TV representing a true next-generation device, with every technology and feature money can buy in 2022.
QLED TVs may be worth the extra cost over UHD TVs if you want the best possible picture quality and television with all the latest features. QLED TVs offer several advantages over UHD TVs, including better image quality, more accurate colors, and a more comprehensive range of brightness levels.
So your best bet is to avoid it altogether. But how? Both Sony and LG told CNET that the best way to prevent burn-in or image retention on their TVs is to avoid static images. "To avoid the possibility of burn-in, consumers should avoid leaving static images on an OLED screen for long periods of time.
Does an OLED TV use a lot of electricity?
OLEDs have been consistently more power-hungry than the average LED models. In both cases, it's not a ton of power, especially compared to older plasma TVs that often consumed twice as much as even the hungriest LEDs and OLEDs.

The LG B1 OLED is an excellent TV. It sits alongside the LG C1 OLED in LG's 2021 lineup, so it has many of the same features, with a different processor. It's pretty standard for an OLED as it delivers the same exceptional picture quality that they're known for.
The G1 has better accuracy, but this can vary between units. However, overall the TVs are very similar, and if you aren't going to wall-mount it, the C1 is likely the better choice for you.
LG OLED C1 (2021, 65-inch size)
It beats any non-OLED TV I've reviewed, including the Samsung QN90A, with its perfect black levels, unbeatable contrast and superb off-angle viewing. It also has the best gaming features, making it the perfect companion to an Xbox Series X or S, PlayStation 5 or both.
It is usually located on the right bottom corner or the bottom center on the back of the TV. Hold the mirror behind the TV so that you can clearly see the label from the front or side of the TV. You can use your mobile phone to take a picture of the label in the mirror.
